Who We Are

For years the Pacific Northwest boating community has enjoyed Chuck Gould’s writing in Nor’Westing. His wit and enthusiasm has inspired many boaters to explore the Pacific Northwest further and have fun boating. Chuck is now working with a solid team of professionals to create the next generation of boating information and entertainment with a new publication in the electronic age, an e-magazine called Pacific Nor’West Boating. This team includes boating writer, photographer, publisher and technologist Mark Bunzel, from Fine Edge Nautical Publishing and the Waggoner Cruising Guide; Sheila Powell, as graphic designer; and a small dedicated support team.

Chuck has also recruited a team of well known boating columnists, like Lorena Langdon and Wayne Heinz, and we are always excited about discovering new nautical story tellers and technical experts we can introduce to the public. If you are an emerging sailing, boating, or marine industry writer or photographer we may be able to feature some of your work in a Pacific Nor’West Boating column.

A New Concept for an On-Line Magazine

The world is changing and publishing is changing too. Computers and pad devices are becoming the preferred means of receiving information. Pacific Nor’West Boating (Adventuring Afloat in the Pacific Northwest) combines the vibrancy and interactivity of a constantly changing web site with a new concept for an on-line magazine.

While our digital magazine will have official "issues" that renew periodically, most articles will have an on-line lifespan of three to four weeks. There will be some new content appearing every 7 to 10 days. We want to offer our magazine readers new content much more frequently than 12 times per year and the electronic magazine allows us to do that.

Unlike the old-fashioned hard copy publications, our advertisers will also be able to update their listings, pricing, and special offers on a weekly basis. Pacific Nor’West Boating will never be "29 days out of date."

The internet is already full of static boating web sites that are never updated or renewed. PACNWBOAT.COM will be the antithesis of those neglected and abandoned sites. It’s our intention to earn the right to be your first choice for informative and entertaining Pacific Northwest boating content and information. We hope you enjoy our new e-magazine.
